Successful UNJSPF information session at New York UNHQ

1 October 2019

UNJSPF participants and staff members during the information session

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) Client Services team held an information session for participants at the New York UNHQ, on Tuesday, 17 September 2019. The event lasted 3 hours during which our Client Services specialists assisted close to 90 UNHQ staff members with their pension-related questions. In addition, newly updated UNJSPF booklets were distributed on-site to provide comprehensive explanations on specific topics such as Participation, Separation, Restoration, Validation and Survivor’s Benefits.

The UN Pension Fund has Client Services offices in New York, Geneva, and (a small office) in Nairobi, where participants and beneficiaries are always welcome for personal in-depth pension consultations with our well-trained Client Services staff (please visit our website for location details, Client Services hours, etc.). Client Services also regularly conducts outreach sessions, via VTC or in person, for all our 24 Member Organizations, to help their staff access and understand important pension information and offer them an opportunity to receive expert answers to their pension questions. We thrive to provide regular outreach to duty stations away from New York, Geneva, or Nairobi, given that participants and beneficiaries in those duty stations do not easily have access to the Fund’s in-person Client Services.

“The Fund organized this information session in New York, to connect directly with its UNHQ participants, address pension questions, and raise awareness that the Fund has a walk-in Client Services office in New York, where we can provide in-depth and personalized service to those who visit. We are very happy that this event was such a success. Based on the positive feedback received we understand there is a demand for this kind of information session and we will definitely organize similar events very soon,” said Christine Höfer, Chief of the Fund’s Client Services and Records Management Section (CSRMDS) in New York.

Please remember that you can always visit the Fund’s New York, Geneva and Nairobi offices in person. The detailed addresses and opening hours for New York and Geneva are provided on the UNJSPF Contact Us page. Otherwise, you can reach the Fund by submitting your written queries via the UNJSPF online contact form or, you can call the Fund’s Call Center at the number provided on the Fund’s Contact Us page (please note the 62 toll-free and local numbers listed on our website).

Important reminder: if you have not done so, yet, please register for access to your UNJSPF Member Self Service (MSS), where you can access your personalized pension file and view/print important documents, like your most recent (2018) annual Pension Statement, run estimates for potential future separation dates and access and print all official UNJSPF forms.
