Sarah Mathieson joined the UNJSPF in March 2021. A UK national, she held the position of Head of Research and Knowledge at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, leading large research programmes and managing various oversight committees.
Previously, Sarah spent many years working in the life insurance and pensions industry in the UK, Germany, and India. Her experience ranges from traditional actuarial functions to corporate finance, sales, marketing, customer service, and public policy. She has recently been a member of the UK Statistics Authority’s Research Accreditation Panel, which was established by the UK government to oversee the use of certain public datasets.
Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from the University of St Andrews (UK) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh Business School (UK). A qualified actuary by profession, she is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
