Ms. Sarah Mathieson of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) (Western Europe and Other States) was appointed Chief of Operations in May 2026. She leads the Operations Service, which, from offices in New York and Geneva, processes and manages UNJSPF benefit entitlements for clients worldwide. Ms. Mathieson joined the UNJSPF in 2021 as Chief of the Data Analysis Unit, serving as Secretary of the Committee of Actuaries and overseeing the Fund's actuarial and solvency programme, as well as its data strategy, governance and central analysis function.

Ms. Mathieson previously spent over 20 years in the life insurance and pensions industry in the UK, Germany and India. Her experience spans actuarial reporting, risk management and corporate finance, as well as sales, marketing, customer service and public policy. Before joining the UNJSPF, she was Head of Research and Knowledge at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, a member of the UK Statistics Authority’s Research Accreditation Panel, and a Trustee of the IFoA Foundation.

Ms. Mathieson holds an MSci in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from the University of St Andrews, an MBA from the University of Edinburgh Business School, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University. She is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a UK-qualified Chartered Actuary.
