Geneva, Switzerland – July 2026 – The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) concluded a week of high-profile engagements at the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, the AI for Good Global Summit 2026, and the WSIS Forum 2026, highlighting how responsible innovation, artificial intelligence and digital identity can improve the delivery of services to the Fund’s more than 250,000 participants, retirees and beneficiaries around the world.
Throughout the week, the UNJSPF shared its experience as a UN leader in responsible AI and digital transformation, demonstrating how emerging technologies can be applied in practical, people-centered ways to strengthen trust, enhance security and improve client services.
“Innovation must always be guided by trust, inclusion and tangible value for the people we serve,” said Rosemarie McClean, Chief Executive of Pension Administration of the UNJSPF. “Our participation in these global forums reflects the Fund’s commitment to leveraging technology responsibly while ensuring that no beneficiary is left behind. The lessons we have learned through initiatives such as our Digital Certificate of Entitlement continue to demonstrate that digital transformation can be both innovative and human-centered.”
UNJSPF representatives participated in the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, a United Nations platform bringing together governments, international organizations, academia and the private sector to discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence.

At the AI for Good Global Summit 2026, UNJSPF maintained a visible presence throughout the week through a dedicated exhibition booth, where participants explored the Fund’s digital transformation journey and its innovative client-service solutions.

At the ServiceNow session on AI-powered service delivery, titled “How AI & ServiceNow Powers UNJSPF for 250K Beneficiaries”, Dino Dell’Accio, UNJSPF Deputy Chief Executive and Philippe Gay, UNJSPF Client Services, presented the Fund’s experience modernizing client relationship management through an integrated digital ecosystem designed to provide efficient, secure and responsive services to beneficiaries worldwide. The session demonstrated how AI-enabled workflows and automation can support large-scale public service operations while maintaining a strong focus on user experience and accountability.

At the session “Cities that think and act: Agentic AI, physical AI and the citiverse”, Dino Dell’Accio explored the future of intelligent digital ecosystems, interoperability and emerging technologies. The discussion highlighted the importance of trusted digital identity and governance frameworks as foundational elements for the next generation of digital public infrastructure.

A centerpiece of UNJSPF’s participation during the week was its dedicated WSIS Forum 2026 session, “Scaling Trust: From Digital Proof-of-Life to a UN Digital Identity Ecosystem” organized jointly with the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The session showcased the Fund’s Digital Certificate of Entitlement (DCE), a mobile solution that modernizes the annual proof-of-life process using biometrics, blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. What began as a pension administration innovation has evolved into a large-scale digital identity solution that is informing broader discussions on trusted digital identity across the United Nations system.

Dino Dell’Accio also represented the Fund during the WSIS High-Level Leaders Dialogue on Emerging Technologies, where he presented the DCE as a concrete example of emerging technology delivering measurable impact in practice. He emphasized how collaboration among UN entities and partners has enabled the Fund to move beyond a pension use case toward a broader vision of interoperable digital identity and trusted data exchange across organizations.
Adding to the week’s achievements, the UNJSPF was recognized as a finalist in the WSIS Photo Contest 2026 with photos highlighting the Digital Certificate of Entitlement initiative.
As the week concluded, the Fund was also represented at the United Nations Group on the Information Society (UNGIS), the group coordinating the UN system for digital transformation, highlighting shared communication needs, monitoring and coordination, and joint programmes.
