The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) participated in the INTERPOL Conference on “AI in Digital Forensics: Unpacking Insights in Investigations and Analysis”, held from 28–30 October 2025. This high-level event convened global experts to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital identity, and forensic integrity in law enforcement and international cooperation.
Dino Cataldo Dell’Accio, Deputy-Chief Executive, showcased the Fund’s pioneering work in digital identity verification and proof-of-life technologies. His intervention highlighted how AI-enhanced solutions can reinforce trust, security, and privacy in digital investigations—while upholding the highest standards of data protection.
The Fund’s digital identity solution is built on three foundational pillars:
These pillars were further elaborated in the Fund’s recent white paper, UNJSPF UNICC Transforming Public Digital Identity: A Blockchain Case in Action from the UN System, which advocates for scalable, interoperable digital identity frameworks across the UN system and beyond.
As emerging threats evolve at unprecedented speed, the conference underscored the urgency of cross-sector collaboration. UNJSPF’s approach demonstrates that security, privacy, and forensic integrity are not competing priorities—they are complementary elements of a trustworthy digital ecosystem.
The Fund’s participation also aligns with broader UN efforts to modernize digital infrastructure, as seen in initiatives like GBBC’s Blockchain Central UNGA 2025, which emphasized the role of blockchain and AI in building inclusive, secure, and sustainable digital identity systems.
The Fund remains committed to advancing the standards and practices of digital forensics in partnership with law enforcement agencies and international organizations. By anchoring our work in privacy-respecting, AI-enhanced methodologies, we aim to contribute to a global digital identity framework that is resilient, inclusive, and ethically grounded.
