Retirees and beneficiaries: Suspension of payment to Afghanistan, and how to change payment instructions to banks outside Afghanistan

We have been informed that due to the present situation in Afghanistan, banking systems in the country are not operational and international wire transfers are not allowed. In view of this, the Fund will put a temporary hold on US Dollar payments into Afghanistan effective with the August 2021 benefit payment. We will closely monitor the situation and resume payments into Afghanistan once banking systems become available.

For beneficiaries and retirees who have bank accounts in their name located outside of Afghanistan and wish to receive their pension payments to that account, please submit Payment Instructions to the Fund so we may update your records and remit the funds accordingly.

To update your payment instructions, please complete Form PF.23 and return to the Fund.  If you are registered with Member Self-Service (MSS), please upload the completed Form to MSS.  Due to the present situation, the Fund will also accept the completed Form sent via email to unjspf-paymentinstructions@un.org.  If sending via email, please also include (1) copy of your passport, license, or other government identification with photo and signature (2) Bank Statement/Document with account details.
