UNJSPF launches AI-powered translation features for website

2 May 2025

The UNJSPF is excited to announce its new AI-powered website translation capabilities. In addition to content in English and French, our clients and visitors can now access essential pension information in Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish.

This effort is the result of a collaboration between the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) and the UNJSPF Communications Team.

“This is a significant step towards promoting multilingualism for the Fund, as well as enhancing information accessibility for our clients worldwide,” said Chief Executive of Pension Administration, Rosemarie McClean.

Multilingualism is recognized by the UN General Assembly as a core value of the organization, an essential factor in harmonious communication among peoples and an enabler of multilateral diplomacy.

Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the six official languages of the United Nations, with English and French being the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

“We are happy about the progress towards making our website accessible in all UN official languages, which is key to ensure effective communication with our stakeholders” said Pedro Guazo, Representative of the Secretary-General for the investment of the UNJSPF assets.

The translation tab is available in the upper right corner of the website home page, and it features a dropdown menu with the six available languages.

Once website users select a language for translation, they will see a disclaimer explaining the use of artificial intelligence (AI) software.

In the event of any ambiguity or inconsistency, the English and French texts of the UNJSPF Regulations, Rules and Pension Adjustment System are authoritative and shall govern.
