United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund Financial Statements for 2025

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF, or “the Fund”) has released its audited financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2025. The Fund recorded a strong year of financial performance, driven by robust investment returns and continued growth in net assets available for benefits.

Financial Highlights

  • Net assets: The UNJSPF's net assets available for benefits increased to US$107.53 billion in 2025, representing a 12.7% increase compared with 2024.
  • Investment growth: Total investments rose to US$106.49 billion, up 12.9% from US$94.36 billion in 2024, reflecting strong market performance across asset classes.
  • Provision for actuarial present value of promised retirement benefits increased to $99.76 billion in 2025, representing a 3.7% increase from 2024.Excess of the actuarial present value of promised retirement benefits amounted to $7,78 billion representing an increase of over 1,000% compared with 2024.• Pension contributions: Contributions increased to US$3.74 billion, compared with US$3.66 billion in 2024, supported by increases in pensionable remuneration despite a decline in active participants.
  • Benefit payments: The Fund paid US$4.34 billion in benefits during the year, supporting more than 94,000 retirees and beneficiaries residing in over 190 countries.

Investment Portfolio

The Fund's investment portfolio, valued at US$107.19 billion, including cash and cash equivalents, remains broadly diversified to support long-term growth and financial sustainability.

  • Equities: US$47.02 billion.
  • Fixed income: US$42.43 billion.
  • Real assets and alternatives: A combined US$17.04 billion, diversified across geographies and sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, private equity and private credit.
  • Cash and cash equivalents: US$696 million.
